  1. Locate the sparger manifold and inspect it for damage and/or debris inside the supply fitting (upturned 90° elbow shown in image). If any debris is found, remove it before proceeding. An easy way to remove material from the inside of the tubing is to immerse the manifold in hot tap water until the tubes are filled. Quickly lift the sparger out of the water and pour the water and any trapped debris out through the 90° elbow. This should not be necessary since the unit was thoroughly cleaned prior to shipping.

  2. Glue the air supply riser tube (the longer of the two gray pipes shipped with the etcher) into the upturned elbow.

  1. Working from the top, wash out the tank with hot tap water to remove any debris that might have accumulated during shipping. DO NOT USE A DETERGENT OR CLEANER! You do not need to dry the tank interior before proceeding.

  2. Insert the sparger manifold into the tank as shown. The air supply riser should be on the opposite end of the tank from the float switch (brown tube held in place by a couple of rubber bands). BE VERY CAREFUL not to knock the float switch during this operation!

  3. Push the manifold until it rests evenly on the bottom of the tank with the end up against the wall where the float switch is mounted.
  1. Wipe down the gray PVC anode hanger plate (or plate cap) with a clean cloth wetted with warm tap water to remove any debris or contamination that may have collected.

  2. Set the plate into the flange around the top of the tank. The air supply riser tube should feed through the 3/4" dia. hole in the plate.
