Questions about:
- How many
boards can I make with a bottle of conductive ink? I
just want to know how long a bottle will last if I am making boards on a
regular basis.
The amount of ink that you might expect
to use will vary depending on your level of expertise, and the number and size
of holes drilled in an "average board" the you make. Generally
speaking, if your average board is 8" X 10" ( 203mm X 254mm)
with 1,000 holes (average diameter = 0.04", 1mm) you will consume about 2
or 3 grams of ink. When you first get started, you can expect to use quite a
bit more. But, as you master the technique, your ink consumption per
board should fall dramatically.
- What is the shelf-life of the
conductive ink? Do I need to
refrigerate the ink between uses?
Our conductive ink has a shelf-life of 6 to 8 months at room
temperature (20°C, 68°F). If you store it in a refrigerator between
uses (at night, when you go home) you can extend the lifetime to 1 year to 18
months.
